Shop ‘n Save chain of grocery stores was established in 1979 with just one store in Belleville, Illinois. Currently having its headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri, the chain operates 38 stores in the St. Louis metropolitan area and 3 stores in Springfield, Illinois. Shop ‘n Save stores are locally owned and operated, and it ranks among the country’s earliest discount grocery stores.
