Shaw’s Supermarkets has its origins in New England where George C. Shaw opened his first store in 1860. Nearly 150 years have passed, and Shaw’s Supermarkets continues to grow and prosper with almost two hundred stores and more than 30,000 associates in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Vermont.

Shaw’s and its sister store chain, Star Market, are both part of the Minnesota based Supervalue group. Currently the company is the second biggest grocery store chain in the northeastern U.S. The stores are known for their pleasant ambience, cheerful customer service and a broad range of products at affordable prices and great quality.
