Pathmark Weekly Special Advertisement - Pioneers in the "super center" concept, which combined traditional grocery and perishable items with expanded offerings on non-foods, including small appliances.
Pay Less Food Markets, as the name suggests, is a chain of grocery stores where the price conscious customers can expect to receive everyday lower prices for quality food products. The company was established in 1947 as Pay Less Super Market in the central Indiana town of Anderson, with its founder H.J. “Bud” Contos having a vision to deliver the maximum value for money to consumer for the products of daily necessity.
Over the years, the store chain expanded to Lafayette and West Lafayette. In 1999, the chain was taken over the Kroger Co. as a strategic acquisition. The Kroger Co. has turned around the stores to reflect the style, quality and concept of any Kroger store, and only the name Pay Less has been retained from the olden times.
