An Interview with Dr. Arthur Rex Jenkins on Invisalign

Dr.Arthur Rex Jenkins is a dentist and has answered some of the common questions Bizymoms visitors have about Invisalign.

Q. What is an invisalign?

A. Invisalign is the "invisible" way to straighten your teeth without braces.  It uses a series of clear removable aligners to straighten your teeth without metal wires or brackets.

Q. How does invisalign work?

A. You wear each set of aligners for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move - little by little, week by week - until they have straightened to the final position your dentist has prescribed. You’ll visit your dentist about once every 6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned.

Q. What are the primary benefits of invisalign?

A. 1. Invisible, so no one can tell you’re straightening your teeth.  Now you can smile during treatment as well as after.       2. Removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment; plus brushing and flossing are no problem.  3. Comfortable, because it has not metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment.  And no metal and wires usually means you spend less time in your doctor’s office getting adjustments.

Q. How long does invisalign treatment take?

A. Total treatment time averages 9-15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case

Q. How much does invisalign cost?

A. The fee for Invisalign  in our office is $5600 for a full treatment.  Many insurance carriers offer a benefit for Invisalign. (Several even provide a benefit for adults.) If we participate with your insurance carrier, the fee will be based on the carrier’s allowable charge for the treatment.

Q. Who uses invisalign?

A. A vast majority of adults and adolescents can be treated with Invisalign.   Invisalign treats a wide variety of cases, including crowding, space closure, narrow arches, relapse, anterior intrusion, and limited treatment cases.

Q. Where is invisalign available?

A. Only an Invisalign® certified dentist can determine if Invisalign is right for you.

Q. How to contact Dr. Jenkins if we have further questions?
