| About Vermont State |
Which Vermont city do you belong to? |
| Vermont lies in the New England region, towards the northeastern parts of the USA. The state is sparsely populated and is quite small as compared to the other states. Vermont is known for Lake Champlain and the Green Mountains which run from south to north. Other states which share borders include Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Quebec (Canada) and New York. The original inhabitants of the state were Native American tribes Iroquois and Abenaki. Later the territory was claimed by France and then came under the British. Vermont is one of the four states which at a point of time, existed as a sovereign nation. The state is the largest producer of maple syrup. No state has a "largest city" which is as small as Burlington or a capital as small as Montpelier. There is plenty of fun at Vermont all throughout the year with so many festivals like the Festival on the Green, Vermont Maple Festival, Enosburg Falls Dairy Festival, the Apple Festival and plenty more. |

These Green Mountains
These green hills and silver waters Are my home - they belong to me And to all of her sons and daughters
May they be strong and forever free Let us live to protect her beauty And look with pride on the golden dome
They say home is where the heart is These green mountains are my home These green mountains are my home |
