An Interview with Dr. Frank Esfandiari on Dental Implants.

Dr. Frank Esfandiari is a Dentist and has answered some common questions that Bizymoms visitors have about Dental Implants.

Q.  How long can one expect to be off work for the implant process?

A.  In most cases the patient will go to work the next day after the implant surgery.

Q.  What will happen without dental implant treatment?

A.  If the patient recently had a tooth extracted and decides to not restore the missing tooth with a dental implant the alveolar bone which is the jaw bone housing the tooth will be lost with time, and this will compromise the site for future implant.

Q.  How do I choose a qualified implant dentist?

A.  You would ask how many implants they placed within the last year. What was the success/failure rate? Ask for their credentials (specialty training).

Q.  What factors contribute to the long-term success of dental implants?

A.  The patients’ oral hygiene plays a big role in the long term survival of the dental implant. Being immunocompromised like uncontrolled diabetes can lead to high failure rate, smoking is also a big factor in implant failure.

Q.  How can we contact Dr. Esfandiari if we have further questions?
