A. There is a risk to everything in life. As with any surgery there are risks which are outlined to each individual but are rare. Anesthesia is probably the biggest risk, blood clots in the legs (DVT). It is more likely to be in an auto accident that have a post operative complication. Wound healing problems are rare. However, smoking, diabetes, and obesity do add to the risks.
