There are many types of books in the reading world. The books are not always with paper and typed letters, but in electronic media, cement, stone, plastic and many more material. Other than the material, the different areas of books are in use. The book varieties are for all the ages, nationalities, languages and for those who possess vision or blind. The blind read the books made with 'Brail System'. In addition to that, we cannot forget that the workbooks and blank writing books are also under the category of books.
The printed books are in many types such as subject, leisure reading, religious, children's, adults, fictions, non-fictions, knowledge, and illustrations. When concentrating the languages, there are many language books in the world. In addition to that, the subject's books are also very important in the field of education. The way of presentation in the subject- books are different from the fictions. Mostly the illustrations are included in the subject books. However, the pictures are common fact in children's books.
The books for the different age groups are salient. The relevant age groups have their curtail areas to be touched. Thus, the writers produce books for different age groups with different features. As an example, the books for the children are different from the books for the teenagers. The adult books are more profound than the youngster's books. Some of the differences are the size of the book, the topics, illustrations (whether to have or not), way of thinking and presentation. There are 'Large Print' books for the people those who are weak in eyesight.
The religious books are always different from the other books. At the very early stages of writing, the papyrus and olla leaves were used as the paper for the books. Most of these books are for the adults. The religious books for the children are always carrying the form of stories with illustrations. The adults prefer to read the philosophical aspect of the religious books.
There are books in the electronic media, such as E-books. There are in the internet, or copied to the CD ROMs. This is the most popular way for searching or learning any subject very fast. However, there is a saying among the educationists that; 'the printed word cannot be replaced.'
The fictions are the books, which get a remarkable sale and profit for the writers. The Booker Prize, Best Seller etc., is allocated for the great books writing in the world.
The books with illustrations and photographs are common in the society. These are mostly for the areas such as art and photography.
The books are in different shapes and sizes. Other than the common rectangular books, the square books and triangular books are in use. There are different shaped books too, common among children. The books other than the rectangular are made for the specific purposes or mostly for the amusement for the children, in their fictions.
