Psycho (1960)
An unforgettable classic, Pyscho¸ is one of those movies which will put you into eternal shock. Starring Alfred Hitchcock, Anthony Perkins and Janet Leigh, this is a horror film playing with your psychology rather than your fear of the supernatural.
The Bride of Frankenstein (1935)
In this movie, Boris Karloff's horrifying tragedy, the Frankenstein monster tries to scare his inventor into inventing a mate for him. Keep in mind that this movie is far better than the Frankenstein of 1931.
The Night of the Living Dead (1968)
A fantastic film about zombies, George Romero has brought the essence of a documentary into this film making it the subject of many flop remakes. The scene where the zombie girl dispatches her father is one of the most horrifying scenes film history has seen.
Rosemary's Baby (1968)
This is a funny yet eerie story of the birth of a demon child. As a couple movies into an apartment building with a dark history, they meet their strange neighbors. The movie then continues onto show how the naïve housewife conceives a baby and later finds out that the baby could be that of Satan.
The Exorcist (1973)
This is a horrendous tale about the demonic possession of a little girl (Linda Blair). After the demon possesses the little girl, the movie shows how the child's mother works hard to get her little girl back by the exorcism of two priests. The movie has great makeup and very realistic special effects.
Freaks (1932)
The historical horror-firm master Todd Browning got a cast of real-life sideshow performers with deformities to perform in this movie. The movie is about a group of freaks who set out to get revenge on the attractive but evil characters. A very controversial film, Freaks was edited before release in the U.S.A and banned in Britain.
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1931)
This film is about Dr. Jekyll who is a kind doctor who harmlessly experiments with drugs. As he develops a drug to tap into the evil side within himself, he turns into the drunken, womanizer Mr. Hyde. Eventually the doctor becomes addicted to the drug and finds himself unable to control his evil half. The film is about alter egos and is an Oscar winner too!
Peeping Tom (1960)
This is a movie which will surely tap into all your darkest fears. A film about a serial killer who has suffered child abuse, Peeping Tom's central character is a young man who murders women and uses a portable move camera to record their expressions of terror and fear as they die.
Beware.you are in for a scare!
