Army of Darkness (1993)

Ash Williams (Bruch Campbell) goes back in time to a war in the year 1300. He goes back in time to save a civilization from an army of dead and has to find the "Necronomicon," a book which will help him get back home to the present. Although this movie may be a little cheesy, it's cheesy in a positive way!

The Big Lebowski (1998)

A story with lots of levels, The Big Lebowski, is an ingenious comical creation. The movie is Jeff Bridges who is mistaken for "The Dude," who is in fact another, much richer Lebowski. The jokes are scattered all throughout the plot; however, most of the jokes are not very obvious and call upon the viewer's attention to figure them out. Be warned that you may have to watch the movie a second time to realize how unimaginably funny it is!

Clerks (1994)

This movie takes into a day in the lives of two convenience store clerks and brings onto screen all those around them too. Although the movie setting maybe a little bland, the movie caters to the humor of various types of viewers. Clerks shows how a low budget, black-and-white film can turn out to be not only successful but extremely funny too!

Dogma (1999)

This Kevin Smith film is about a descendant of Christ who must attain self-realization in order to save everything we know. Simultaneously, two angels (Ben Affleck and Matt Damon) are trying to prove that they are capable of doing anything on Earth and can still be in the good books of God. They have also discovered a flaw which could end the Earth, and Linda Fiorentino is the only one who can stop it. There are plenty of humor scenes in the movie and the main idea of the movie is to show that nobody knows what comes next in life and so better live today to the maximum!

Election (1999)

A dark comedy about a high school election, Election is mainly about a girl who would do ANYTHING to win. Tracy Flick (Reese Witherspoon) thinks that her ultimate goal in life is to become the President of her senior class. Although she isn't the nicest person around, she tries to coax people into casting their votes for her. However her advisor (Matthew Broderick), brings up competition against her by nominating another student (Chris Klein) to run against here. From there onwards, a lot of dark humor is used to mesh all the characters in the story together and give an insight into what they are thinking at any given moment.
