Fashionable teenagers would always love to be in the spot light. Most teenagers go into fashion not because the design is great or it looks great on them, but because it is the trend.
Teen fashions trends are created by movie stars and fashion icons who are either teenagers or close enough to be teenagers. They have a following all over the world. Their fashions are not contemporary and can sometimes look outrageous but the teens do not care. They just like to be one of the crowd.
Some of the clothes they wear make them look shabby like the pants with tears and thread hanging on the trouser legs. The amount they spend for these pairs of pants are also astronomical and they are willing to pay a premium to look shabby. We adults would find it difficult to understand but one thing we know most kids outgrow this stage and thereafter change their styles completely.
The tops could range from a t.shirt to fully covered blouse or even spaghetti strap tank top to anything else which is termed as fashionable.
Their hair will also compliment the clothes they wear. Some have It colored and some have it rebonded or the guys may like it spiked or even the head shaved. At present tattoos seem fashionable among teens and others. Due to parental restrictions the teens may not be able to have permanent tattoos but yet they seem to find substitutes.
Some of the teen fashions seem inappropriate, but yet because it is fashionable teens want to be seen sporting these clothes and parents who find it difficult to discipline their children find this situation to be very stressful. Children on the other hand find peer pressure too much to handle and therefore want to be with the majority. These situations can get really out of control in terms of modesty as well as financially. It is not every parent who can support their children to do what the rest of the teens do.
Depending on the fashion of the season, it is easy for teens to be on the spot light as they sometimes wear clothes that are daring. Some of the present day teen icons have set standards which are anything but exemplary and teens who find it difficult to determine what is good or bad for them, think that it is fashionable to be like them and this is the way to dress and live.
Teen fashions are a big business to designers and entrepreneurs. At the end of the day all they want to see is the money they can make of it. Their responsibility it seems is to themselves and what little bits of garments they produce and put out does not necessarily have any social responsibility. Has teen fashions contributed to the deteriorating standards or morals. Is this what brings teens to the spot light. Though there are no universal regulators for this area of business, each designer and producer should become more responsible in the fashions they create and produce. |
