About movie tips

Read about movie tips and which movies are worth watching at least once in your lifetime. Some movies may be very popular but the plot could be disappointing. Others may have unknown actors featured in them but the acting and plot would be so well done that you didn't realize you were actually watching a movie.

What to look for in a movie

There are a variety of factors that you should consider when coming to the conclusion as to whether a movie is good or not. A lot of people will ask you if a movie was good, not whether you liked it, but 'good' is such a broad term.

Now, let's look at the factors that should be considered before classifying a movie as 'good'!

1. Rewatchability

First things first, a really good movie must be something that you can watch over and over again and still get the same or a higher level of enjoyment. There are some movies which can be watched only once. I'm not trying to say that it was a horrible experience to sit through the first viewing, but that you really don't enjoy watching it after the first time (something similar to the 'law of diminishing returns').

2. Quotability

There are some movies which provide you those one - liners or famous quotes that become a part of your day - to - day life, for e.g. '..Bond, James Bond' from the James Bond movie series, and 'My Mamma always said 'Life is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you're gonna get' from the Tom Hanks hit, Forrest Gump.

3. Quality

The overall satisfaction that you get after you finish watching a movie: a realistic story, believable fighting scenes, good jokes, emotion and a smooth flowing plot. I'm really not the type who can break down the movie into different elements and tell you about each of them as I have no prior experience in acting, but you know it when you're satisfied with a movie.

4. Afterglow

When a movie forces you to ponder about your life, your values and your relationships, it's known as the 'afterglow'. The capability of a movie to make you change your way of thinking and living.

These 4 factors very much covers the characteristics you should look for in a good movie, characteristics which separate the good from the great. You can always like a movie, but, if they don't satisfy any one of the above - mentioned factors, it would be a crime to call it a 'good' movie!
