This is a wonderful football movie which offers a great lesson to children about simple things in life beyond racism. The only violence you can encounter is football violence and inappropriate language is limited to racist words. However, this true story would provide you with a chance to talk to your children about racism.

Newsies

This movie which is a Disney musical is based on the non-fictional strike by young New York newspaper sellers in the early nineteenth century. The movie highlights the difficult financial decisions one young boy has to make as he chooses between his dream of going out of town and his wanting to help his friends right now. It has a talented cast and great music.

Honey, I Shrunk the Kids

When an "extraordinary" scientist discovers a machine which can shrink things, he accidentally shrinks his two kids and two of the neighbor's kids as well. Enraged by the doings of the machine, the scientist dismantles his machine and dumps it along with his children! Now the tiny kids have to get back home through a dangerous jungle:

Born to be Wild

Although not a very famous movie, Born to be Wild is a great family movie. A youngster with no friends becomes friends with a gorilla and somehow learns sign language to converse with it. Once he realizes that the gorilla is going to be taken away, he runs away with it, making the movie a cute and very heartwarming one.

The Neverending Story

The first one of a trilogy, this movie is the story of a lad, Bastian, who tries to escape from the troubles of his life by getting into a novel called "The Neverending Story." The rest of the story revolves around what happens as "Fantasia" faces a threat from "The Nothing." An interesting fantasy movie gives kids the impression that anyone and everyone has a hero inside them.

Cool Runnings

Another wonderful non-fictional movie, "Cool Runnings" is the story of the first Jamaican bobsled team. An extremely humorous movie which is very moving too. It has a lesson regarding being a proud and self contented individual.

The Three Musketeers

A great Disney movie which somewhat mimics the novel "The Three Musketeers." It attempts to re-enact the adventures of D'Artagnan as he ventures to become a musketeer. Don't worry about any complexities since it's a very simplified version which is far from the complex book which this movie slightly resembles.
