With the number of equipment on the market, electronic brands are coming out with new styles and versions on a very regular basis. Some popular electronic brands include Sony, Toshiba, HP, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung and JVC. Other brands that are also coming up include Nokia phones, Apple computers and Canon cameras. |

An international survey conducted in November 2005 comparing the most famous consumer electronic brands in the world revealed Sony as the most popular brand. This survey was conducted by Stewart-Allen/GMI BrandBarometer, co-created by marketing expert Allyson Stewart Allen/GMI, a provider of integrated solutions for global market intelligence.
Consumers were asked about their opinion and experience of these brands, overall quality, levels of trust and perceived country of origin. Sony was perceived as `luxurious' .
However, in 2005, Samsung surpassed this rating for the first time to be rated as the new leader and most popular consumer electronics brand. In 2007, the handset division of Samsung Electronics overtook the American rival Motorola making it the world's second largest mobile phone manufacturer. Annual sales of Samsung Electronics exceeded the $100 billion mark at the end of 2007 creating history along with Hewelett-Packard of the U.S. and Siemens of Germany.
Hewelett-Packard commonly known as HP incorporated in USA is the largest technology company in the world. It specializes in manufacturing computing, storage devices, printers and other imaging products. Other products include electronic test equipment, systems, solid state components, medical electronic equipment and instrumentation for chemical analysis.
Cannon electronics is listed by Fortune as one of the `Most Admired' companies in America and was ranked as No.35 on the Business Week list of `Top 100 brands'. The products made popular by them are black and white and also color photo copiers, printers, facsimiles, image filing systems, cameras and lenses, camcorders, semiconductor, broadcast, encoders/optoelectric components and optical flatbed scanners.
Dell Inc was founded in 1984 to market computers. In 2000 Dell was selected as the No.1 computer by U.S. consumers and 2002 they entered the Projector market and in 2003 Dell started producing printers. Blue ray disc technology was introduced in 2006.
Finish multinational, Nokia with sales in more than 150 countries and an operating profit of 8.0 billion dollars as of 2007 is the world's largest manufacturer of mobile telephones. Interbrand/Business Week has listed the 1st non-US company Nokia as the 5th in the most valuable global brands list of 2008. It is rated as the No.1 brand in Asia in 2007 and in Europe (as of 2008).
Originally known under the brand name National and from 1950s through the 1970s they used the name Panasonic to market televisions, radios and home appliances. In 1965 under the brand name Technics the company debuted a hi-fidelity audio speaker. Thereafter high quality stereo components became very popular. They continue to produce high quality specialized electronics such as short wave radios and stereo receivers, CD players and components for the niche market,
Toshiba another leader in electronics was responsible for a number of Japanese firsts, including radar (1942), the TAC digital computer (1954) transistor television and microwave oven (1959) and in 1971 they produced the color video phone, in 1978 the word processor, in 1982 the MRI system, in 1986 the personal laptop computer, in 1991 the NAND EEPROM and the DVD in 1995. In 1996 the personal computer was produced and HD DVD in 2005.
These brands are popular not only in the country of origin but has gained popularity all over the world. |
