About this article: All You Need to Know About Dressing Up
Dressing up is an important factor for many men. They like to look their best and get into their Sunday best. While some men only dress up for special occasions and to go to work, others like to dress up every day because they enjoy looking their best and presenting a stylish image wherever they go. |

| All you need to now about dressing up |
It is a well known fact that 'first impressions make the best impressions'. You may be very smart, intellectual and know your facts, but it won't be of much use if you dress shabbily! From a distance, people won't be able to hear what you say but will definitely be able to see what you wear from a distance, and how you look. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that you dress up properly.
First things first, take a shower! I know, it sounds kinda' stupid and obvious but, believe me, I've lived with people who come to the dining area, when guests are around, without washing their face, brushing their teeth or combing their hair! It creates an extremely bad impression on the people who see you first, and they may feel offended.
Next, shave your facial hair. You don't necessarily have to shave off everything. If you prefer a particular beard style, make sure you trim your facial hair accordingly. Just don't leave any stubs hanging around!
Don't forget to spray yourself with deodorant, because the smell that comes about from sweaty armpits and body can be extremely disguisting, and can put off people!
Now let's look at a couple of 'dress codes' and the way you should dress for them:
1. Business Casual
When the occasion specifies 'business casual', you should put on a nice clean shirt, pants, nice polished shoes (formal, not casual). The shirt doesn't necessarily have to be full - sleeved, half - sleeved is perfectly OK as long as it doesn't look too informal. Don't even think about wearing athletic clothes. Don't think about going for such an occasion with a suit, because you'll be the only person wearing one, and you'll look plain foolish.
2. Formal
Well, I don't think I have to say too much, get a full - sleeved shirt (preferably white), and a nice, sleek black suit. Make sure that your shoes are well polished, and get a nice tie (or ribbon) to accompany it. Finish it off with a nice perfume!
3. Smart Casual
Well, smart casual is generally used for club or social circle meetings. Coats are unnecessary. You should try your best to avoid a t - shirt, and wear a shirt, not formal, but not something with zany designs. You can wear a denim jeans, but, like the shirt, make sure it's plain. Avoid ones with funny pockets, or dyed jeans. |
