About computer games

Computer games have come a long way in the recent past with huge leaps in the advancement of technology. Both young and old alike play computer games and look for the best visual and gaming experience when it comes to their favorite game.

The computer really started to expand as a source of entertainment after the development of the personal computer. One main reason was that the Microsoft Corporation developed the Windows Operating System which was fully based on the concept called Graphical User Interface and the other was that after the personal computer hit the roof there was stiff competition between software companies. So some software companies saw the opportunity to use the personal computer as a source of entertainment and then exploited that opportunity.

The first computer games came out in the early 1980's for mainframe computers. Students in universities around the world started to build games for the mainframe computers in the university. Then during the 90's after the personal computer was introduced and started to move forward at a steady pace software companies saw the opportunity to use the personal computer as a source of entertainment. So games were developed for personal computers.

But the real break through came when Microsoft started to release version of their system software which was based on the concept called Graphical User interface. The system software was of course called Windows. This helped the software companies who were building games in massive proportions. Previous operating systems consisted of coding which resulted in a lot of typing which was of course no fun. But with the introduction of a graphical interface the user was given much more freedom to roam around and explore. Software companies stared working with Windows so that these software's would be compatible with Windows. Windows was a major hit and so was the application software's which it supported.

Now there are many companies which have dedicated themselves towards developing games and other entertainment software's for personal computers. The computer, which was previously only thought to be a machine which could be used strictly for corporate reasons quickly transformed into entertainment device. Now the computer is being used to play games, watch movies, listen to music, is also used by DJ and sound masters, film directors and so on.

Now computer games have reached a level never thought possible before. Now there are online gaming competitions were professional gamers compete against each other to become the best. The web also has become a major source of entertainment in many ways. The online tournaments are some times projected through out the world through the web so that all who think that they are worthy may compete.

The computer has now become a fully fledged source of entertainment. It has become so varied that the personal computers can be used to do ones work and also entertain. The only way the personal computer can now go is up, and in the future it will reach heights which we would never have thought to be possible.
