Collecting books is a very useful hobby. The libraries possess a system of changing, removing and refilling the racks with books. Most of the books in the libraries (public) are meant for the students in different educational areas. Miniature libraries could be started in homes for the children from childhood. If the parents are keen to develop the reading habit in their children, the facilities should be provided for it. Arrangements should be made for the proper stacking of books. The necessary books should be purchased to enable the child to gather the information required for his/her studies.

Giving a book for a birthday or a special day for a book lover is very salient and is a way of encouraging the children to read. When considering a book as the gift, one must think of the receiver's age, taste and the novelty of the book. If the book is not a newly published one, it may be already in the receiver's book shelf. So in presenting books it is better to ascertain whether the particular book is not available with the recipient. In the same way if the gift is a book unsuitable for the age and the taste, it may lie in the bookshelf without being read.

When collecting books in a miniature library at home, they must be labeled according to the subject or the initials of the author. The categorizing in a large library is different from a categorizing in a miniature library. It is wise to write the name of the owner, telephone number and the date purchased on your books. If you can keep a bookmark in each book, it would save time for locating the pages to continue reading or for reference.

The book collections need space. If any book collector has a separate reading room or a large area with so many book-shelves; he could be collecting even the books used before. If the library is restricted to a small area, then removing of unnecessary, old books is important.
