The 'looks' of your Italian restaurant matter as much as what you offer in your menu. People often dine out because they don't feel like cooking for the day but still want a nice meal in a pleasant atmosphere.
The creation of an atmosphere is one of the most important parts of decorating your pizza restaurant. Since you'll obviously be serving mainly pizza (if you're targeting the youngsters and families), the restaurant set-up will surely be different from that of an up-market café.
Such themed restaurants are becoming very popular. An Italian restaurant could possibly have a 'street café theme' or even an 'old-world' theme. Both these themes are great ideas for creating the atmosphere in an Italian restaurant.
Once you've decided on how you'd like your restaurant to look, start from the walls and the floors. They should be painted with Earth tone colors.
Next up is the furniture. In Italian restaurants, you'll generally find that dark wood, or even tables which represent classical Italian art can be selected! You can get tables with an Italian theme from furniture distributors upon request.
You could add something more special to the atmosphere by having some paintings. Perhaps it could be a replica of popular sculptures from Italy. If you're not into something too fancy, then you could have paintings showing Italian-country life or even an Italian kitchen. You have a lot of options, but it depends on the type of atmosphere you want to have in the restaurant.
Plants are so important in Italian restaurants. You can put up some silk plants at appropriate locations to not only improve you décor's looks, but to give the visitors the feel of semi-private tables. |
