Things to Do with Kids in San Jose ~ Sheena West

If you’re trying to find a place to spend quality time with the kids, San Jose won’t make you look too hard. This kid-friendly city has everything a whole family could need for a fun-filled day and picture perfect memories.  Consider taking your kids to one of these three great places and make sure you bring a camera with you! You don’t want to miss out on your kids’ happy faces.

Happy Hollow Park and Zoo

Happy Hollow is a fantastic amusement park and zoo designed for toddlers and any child with a soft spot for animals. Though it may not be as big as the typical zoo, its small size allows kids to enjoy all the exotic creatures in the zoo without getting over-stimulated.  Be prepared to spend lots of time at the barnyard petting zoo – there’s nothing kids love more than being able to pet and feed their favorite farm animals.  When your child gets tired of the animals, you can go on one of Happy Hollow’s fun rides, which include a carousel, a roller coaster, kiddie swing rides, and a fun dragon train.  As if these attractions aren’t enough, Happy Hollow also has some really fun outdoor playgrounds for big and small children. Those six years and older will love playing on the Redwood Lookout – a fort-like playground with impressive towers and climbing structures.

Santa Clara Paintball

If you’d like your kids to experience the fast-paced action of paintball, look no further than Santa Clara Paintball, a great place to take beginners and children for their very first game. Santa Clara Paintball has several fields designed according to difficulty level, so you don’t have to worry about experienced players picking on your child. The staff is incredibly helpful, friendly, and strict about safety.  Before the game begins, first-timers will be given a talk about rules and safety measures, and the referee will make sure nobody is shot at close range during the game. Just make sure your kids wear comfortable shoes, thick jeans, and have a change of clothes at hand.

Santa Clara Paintball is located at 344 Tully Rd San Jose, CA 95111. Learn more about the facility and rates at http://santaclarapaintball.com.

San Jose Skate

For good old-fashioned wholesome fun, bring the family to San Jose Skate, a spacious skating rink where kids can enjoy fun games and interactive dance on roller skates.  Though the facility is a little old, it’s clean, well-maintained, and provides a different way of having fun.  If your kids don’t know how to skate, an instructor will be more than happy to give lessons to the whole family.  There’s also a huge bounce house where kids who are too young to skate can let out some energy.

Kids in San Jose will never run out of fun things to do!
