Q. What is a Mommy Makeover?
A. A term used to describe procedures that help restore some of the changes that occur after having a baby. For each women these can mean different things. Often the breast and abdomen have changed following child birth. For some it is seen more in the eyes or facial skin with brown spots and thinning skin, for others it is the arms or thighs. Whatever has changed the most and needs to be corrected is what is addressed and it can be in a one procedure setting or done over the course of a year with different treatments as your schedule permits.

Q. What are the important facts about the safety and risks of the Mommy Makeover?
A. When done in a safe environment, by someone trained in Plastic Surgery who is board certified in Plastic surgery and who has privileges to perform the same procedure in a hospital – it can be a very safe and effective procedure. Risks are many (infection, bleeding, blood clots… to name a few) however most are specific to the individual and the procedures required to achieve the look you desire. This is a discussion you will want to have with your well trained plastic surgeon. There are many "Cosmetic" surgeons, however they are not the same as a trained plastic surgeon.

A. Breast augmentation and or a lift with liposuction and or abdominoplasty, eyelid lift, laser skin resurfacing, arm lift, thigh lift or liposuction and fillers of the lips and parenthesis as well as under the eyes.

A. Varies from 1 -2 weeks for a tummy tuck and liposuction with a breast augmentation or lift to no down time for laser – Botox and some fillers such as Juvederm or Restylane and some skin care.
