Rowlett High Schools
Rowlett High School the second newest high school in the district, opened in 1996 with Dr. Marlene Hammerle as the inaugurating Principal. The High School, located in Rowlett Texas, is a public secondary school which enrolls students from grade 9 to 12. The school operates under a trimester system and the students attend three twelve week terms per year. The courses offered by the Rowlett High School include regular, college preparatory and career and technology.

Rowlett Independent Schools are managed by the Garland Independent School District. This body is led by a seven member board of trustees and the community and the staff work as a team to build a strong school system. While fiscally conservative, administrators are constantly looking for innovative ways to prepare students for the 21st century. Every school bond issue has been approved by the residents. The Garland Independent School district is one of the only three in Texas to have earned an AA1 bond rating from Moody’s Investor Service.
