| Dr. Carol L. Clinton is a leading skin care physician. Here the doctor has answered some common questions that Bizymoms visitors have about Juvederm.
Q. How soon after the Juvederm treatment can results be seen?
A. The results are immediate and astonishing. Most people can’t believe how great they look following a treatment and that they were just a syringe away from looking so good. Juvederm can be used to treat multiple areas throughout the face for restoring volume as well as earlobes and hands that lose volume as we age.
Q. What is the downtime following Juvederm treatment?
A. There is some icing of the area that is required for the day following the procedure and also a slight amount of bruising may occur.
Q. What are the risks associated with Juvederm?
A. Bruising and some lumpiness can occur immediately following the treatment. The bruising is temporary and can be reduced using a variety of methods, from stopping the use of aspirin, ibuprofen, alcohol, vitamin E and fish oil for several days ahead of time. Drinking pineapple juice the evening before treatment and using arnica will also help. At the time of injection, topical anesthetic is used along with ice. Finally direct pressure at the time of injection and using a slow injection technique will reduce bruising.
Lumpiness is not something someone else can see - but something you may feel for a few days following injection.
Q. Is Juvderm FDA approved?
A. Yes.
