A.The length of treatment depends on the severity of the problem. The typical teenage case averages 20-24 months.
Q.What are the benefits of early orthodontic evaluation?
A.We strive to treat patients without removing permanent teeth, whenever possible. To provide the most treatment options it is best to see your child while some of the baby teeth are still present. The American Association of Orthodontists recommend that every child have an orthodontic evaluation by age 7 to screen for potential problems such as: severely protruding teeth, dental crowding, narrow upper jaw and oral habits such as finger/thumb sucking.
Q.Is it too late to have braces, if I am already an adult?
A.Healthy teeth can be moved at almost any age. One in five patients in braces these days are adults. Many adult patients who had braces were pleasantly surprised how their treatment actually took much shorter than they originally thought it would.
Orthodontics can help you attain a more pleasant youthful looking smile. In the majority of cases this can be done without having to remove enamel or placing artificial restorations on your teeth. Braces straighten teeth naturally.
