Congratulations on reaching the last few pounds to loose!
Don’t get frustrate if you feel like you are stuck with those last few pounds, and you can’t seem to shed them no matter what you do. Relax; you are not the first to feel stuck at this point. As this is the hardest part in any fitness routine.
Don’t try cutting down on your food drastically when you reach this point, as you need all the energy you get from the food you have been eating through out your workout program and if the diet had not been good, then you wouldn’t have come this far in the first place.
At this last juncture, start increasing your activity level, e.g. increase your workout time by 10 – 15 minutes daily and drink lots of water. Be patient. Follow the same diet routine and exercise plan for 7 – 10 more weeks and those stubborn last few pounds will wear out soon.
Start thinking thin. For believe it or not, mindset does affect our behavior. Think positive. Don’t start thinking in lines of, ‘I’ll never loose these last few pounds’, chances are, if you continue to believe so, you never will, and I am sure you don’t want to take that risk. Start thinking, ‘These last pounds will vanish in 7 weeks’ and you will be motivated to work towards this goal. Plus you have nothing to loose in taking more time, especially after all you did to come this far in your fitness routine.
Don’t give up and don’t try options that are harmful to your body like diet pills, fat burning pills, hormone pills and heat therapy for burning excess fat. Take smaller, healthier measures like cutting down on your diet soda; as they may be slowly but surely adding to your salt intake.
Finally keep measuring your weight, and keep track of your daily activity and diet plan to see if you are doing something wrong, or whether there are some areas to be improved on to reach your goal. For example, if you are guilty of emotional eating, maybe this is what has been keeping you from loosing those last few pounds. Did you get emotional and desperate about not losing those few pounds and started munching something without your knowledge? Keep track, it’s easier to figure it out then.
Prove yourself that you will get through this phase just the way you came up to this point.
