Recent Changes of Nascar Rules and Regulations

From the birth of NASCAR in the early 1948’s in the hills of Carolinas and Virginia to date, NASCAR has gone through a series of changes in its rules and regulations.

With the many changes seen in NASCAR, as to the tracks, technology and races, safety has become the key area where more and more regulations are introduced rapidly. Safety was and is always the vital issue to deal with when one talks of NASCAR. The most recent change when it comes to safety is that it is not only the drivers’ safety that is taken into consideration. Safety has become a focus of NASCAR as a whole entity, and also a concern for the NASCAR fans and viewers.

When NASCAR commenced the race cars didn’t have seatbelts, as in that period, seatbelts were not even included in regular cars. Many drivers started using harnesses which were used in air travel. Now when it comes to modern NASCAR, officials’ main concern has become safety of speeding as well as enthusiastic fans who tend to trip and tumble into the stadium benches. NASCAR officials can no longer ignore the urgency of security and safety for the public. It would not only uphold the enthusiasm of the fans, but also not make them accountable for any accusations and even worse keep them away from any possible lawsuits.

NASCAR had to carry out extensive study and establish great safety measures to increase the fans demand, as they did not fancy a sport where their favorite drivers were greatly injured and even killed when involved in the sport. They preferred baseball or basketball compared to NASCAR. But with the recent regulations put forward, the fan rate has increased as they believe that there is little to no risk to the lives of their favorite sportsmen. But yet it is still  shocking when crashes do occur. Thus it is the NASCAR fans which push and motivate the NASCAR officials to take immediate actions for the current safety measures.

The most recent new regulation with regard to safety is based on the car’s infrastructure. Most of the attention is given to the immediate structuring around the driver with the goal to minimize high impact during a crash on to the driver’s body.

But as you and I are aware, these safety measures are not easy to implement. If it can be easily implemented should they not they be available in all vehicles running on the busy streets of the town? Rest assured that your views as fans are taken into account, and the changes will continue with new technologies and findings to make NASCAR the most appealing race in town.
