| With the speed of a NASCAR racing event, effort is on way to make the NASCAR Hall-of-Fame idea a reality. Constructions are currently on way in Charlotte, North Carolina, the area selected by NASCAR to be the location of this unique facility.
According to Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory, their goal is to produce the ‘crown jewel’ of Charlotte and the most excellent Hall-of-Fame experience in the whole wide world. The Hall-of-Fame is expected to develop the ever changing and budding activity of NASCAR racing in the dynamic city. This is considered a success for Charlotte region and all the NASCAR fans all over the world. It is expected to be a exclusive and pleasurable experience for all spectators.
The NASCAR Hall of Fame is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2010. It will be a high-tech facility which would be a tribute to NASCAR icons like Bill France Sr., Bill France Jr. , Richard Petty, Davey Allison, Geoffrey Bodin, etc. and also generate an lasting mark of respect to the crew members, drivers, team owners and others who have contributed to the sport in small and great ways.
In January 2007, ceremonials were held to launch the constructions of the Hall of Fame, and constructions were begun in the month of May 2007. The designs of the building are approaching completion and preliminary exhibit and internal layouts are being laid.
The Hall-of-Fame of NASCAR would be one of its kind, with roughly fifty thousand square feet of display room showcasing the heritage and history of NASCAR, a ceremonial plaza, an external location for induction ceremonials, A theater with a seating capacity of 250 featuring informational films on the olden times of NASCAR, As you enter the facility, a open, large greeting area known as the great hall, which is to comprise of revolving lively graphics, displays and video scenes. A glory road would be laid (ramp) directing to the second level which will feature 15-18 significant cars, a Hall-of-Honor, where NASCAR Hall of Fame inductees are to be honored. And many more such features like the NASCAR vault, Transporter simulator, Racing simulator, Heritage speedway, tribute space, retail and restaurant outlets, Radio & TV studios, NASCAR newsroom, etc.
Actually this Hall-of-Fame for NASCAR is just one element of the Complex of NASCAR Hall-of-Fame, situated in Charlotte, neighboring to Charlotte Convention Center. This complex includes the NASCAR plaza office tower, NASCAR Hall-of-Fame, Convention center expansion, new ballroom and a Parking garage for more than thousand vehicles.
