Importance of Physical Fitness

If there is anyone who should be fit in the family, the first is you, the mother and no one else in your family has as many options to stay fit as you!

Being a mum gives a new meaning to life. It also means your days become busier and they start to run short with the tons of things that need to be done around the house. In the midst of it all, even thinking of getting fit may not seem like a possibility in your busy schedule. You may ask, ‘what, with tackling your home, work and baby, who ever has the time to step into a fitness center?’ Well you do have a point. But why step into a fitness center to get fit when you can do it at the comfort of your own home!

Imagine if there were ways to get fit while not having to leave your home or even set aside a specific time for your work-outs. This sort outs so complications like finding a baby sitter, stress about chores at home, frequent trips to the work-out center and worrying about how people at home would cope without you.

As a new, mum you could try walks with your baby as a first step in your fitness plan. While walking will give you a good work-out, the fresh air will also do you good, giving a change for you and your baby from the regular indoors. Your household tasks also count as work-out sessions, especially tasks that require extra strength and drive. From sweeping to washing to ironing, all these tasks hold many chances for work-outs, including stretching, bending & weight lifting.

Remember the days when you loved dancing? Well did you know it’s a great way to get fit? No, I don’t mean for you to join a dancing class. Turn on the music at your home and dance and sway to the music with your baby. Not only will you find a fitness plan which works for you, your baby will love it too. Dancing with your baby also gives more bonding time with each other, and will be a soothing change for your baby. It is a great option for working out while keeping a good eye on your baby. You can also sweep to the music, clean to the music and feed your baby to the music. Get fit doing something you love, and take care of household chores in the process too.

If you don’t feel motivated to dance alone, gather up a few mums you may know from your neighborhood, park and community. Not only will they appreciate a most enjoyable fitness class that is so very convenient and relaxing, it will also help you meet new people and interact with your neighbours. You can also learn many things from these gatherings, sharing each others experiences on looking after babies, handling house hold chores and even tips on home fitness routines.

Have fun getting fit while spending more quality time with your baby.
Your children will be glad to have such a lovely, fit, fun loving mum!
