Five years ago The Cotton Company, in Historic Downtown Wake Forest, met Anne Acosta, owner of Tirza’s Boutique, located in the Marketplace of The Cotton Company. Anne, went to college in Texas and then stayed there several years to work with various non- profit organizations, ranging from health, research, education and children. While she lived in Texas she had friends living in Cary, NC that she would visit often. During her travels between states, her friends would ask her to bring pewter crosses from Texas to North Carolina. They enjoyed her items from Texas so much she decided to become a vendor at a store in Cary. It was through her time there that she heard of The Cotton Company. Anne made the transfer between shops when the business in Cary retired.
Tirza’s Boutique is about uniquely handmade quality items with vivid colors, individuality, diversity and culture! One of Anne’s favorite aspects about having a boutique at The Cotton Company is the diversity in products offered and all the handmade items particularly in the Gallery. Her favorite memory is of a devoted customer whose son collected nativity sets from all over and particularly loved Tirza's unique sets. Anne was able to overhear the loyal customer telling her friend that, “Tirza’s is the shop for us.” Anne had been standing close by and the woman was unaware she was the owner. Anne was delighted to know that her products were bringing happiness to a family.
