The Risk Involved In Using Recalled Products

The main reason for a product to be recalled is either because the product is defective or because the product has safety issues. The recall might be isolated to a single incident or a batch or a set of batches of the product or in the absolute worst case scenario, to an entire product line.

There are times when a product will be recalled due to very minor reasons. Say for an example, in a clothing line product, if the possibility of the color of the product fading is high, then the product might be recalled. There is not much of a danger in using this type of product except if you have a red t-shirt and then you wash it with your other clothes, in the end every thing ends up becoming red. In this type of scenario, this outcome would be the worst of what you might have to face because you’re using a defective product.
Some defective products might cause major incidents and might even cause life threatening situations. For an example, if you are using a phone which has a defective battery and the possibility of it blowing up or melting is high, then  this is the type of risk scenario were you don’t want to end up in. The phone could easily blow up in your ear or melt in your pocket causing harmful outcomes.

Food and medical supplies also will cause a major threat if the product is defective. Food poisoning has become quite a common scenario these days. There are many reasons why food might end up becoming poisonous. If the food has expired, if the food expires before the date of expiration mentioned on the cover, or if the food reacts chemically with its cover and so on. Medicine also will cause catastrophic outcomes if the product is defective. Drugs cause chemical effects within the body; these chemical reactions are some times allergic to some people, which cause that particular type of medicine to be harmful towards that person. This is mostly not due to the defectiveness of the product, but due to an allergic reaction of a person toward the product. On the other hand, a defective product will cause any one who uses the product to react in an unhealthy manner to the product. This could cause bad allergic reactions which could become terminal.

Products are recalled by the manufacturer or by the relevant authorities for a reason. Using these products after the product has been recalled is not a very wise decision. The defectiveness of the product might vary from no harm done to catastrophic out comes. If the defect causes nor harm what so ever then the product most likely will not get recalled. So when a product is recalled, make sure that you don’t use the product because the effect of the defectiveness is never predictable.
