An Interview with Dr. Robert Underill on Lumineers

Dr. Robert Underill is a dentist and has answered some of the common questions Bizymoms visitors have about Lumineers.

Q. What are Lumineers?

A. Lumineers are beautiful porcelain covers for the teeth.  They can change the color, shape, and position of some or all of the teeth.

Q. How are Lumineers different form traditional veneers?

A. Lumineers (or no reduction veneers) are different from traditional veneers in that no (or very little) tooth is removed before the veneers are bonded.  Traditional veneers require the removal of tooth structure.

Q. Is the Lumineers procedure painful?

A. Not at all

Q. Can one get Lumineers instead of braces?

A. Sometimes you can get Lumineers instead of braces.

Q. How long will Lumineers last?

A. I have Lumineers in my own mouth and I expect them to last 20 years.

Q. Can Lumineers be taken off if I want them removed?

A. They can be removed with difficulty, however, since we try them on for fit and color before bonding, we already know what they will look like. It is truly the one procedure that I do where everyone loves them.

Q. How much do Lumineers cost?

A. Lumineers cost $900.00 each.  Most people need 8-10 to change a smile.  We also include a lower arch whitening and night time retainer with each case.

Q. How to contact Dr. Underill if we have further questions?
