TUTORING Tips on Preparing Your Children for the Beginning of a New School Year ~ Lynelle Holmes
The start of the new school year is just a couple weeks away. Now is a good time to get the kids back on the school-time routine. Change bed times back to 8:30 or 9:00. Growing children should get at least eight hours of sleep per night. Make sure the kids have completed any summer reading projects that may be due. The supply lists are available in most stores and at the schools. Make arrangements to purchase those items along with any school uniforms needed.
Finally, think about subject areas your children struggled with last year and make arrangements for remediation in those areas. The teachers, school programs, and private tutors are options for extra help for your children.
Enjoy these last couple of weeks. Have some type of end-of- summer celebration to bring the summer to a close. Have a great school year!
