Which New Hampshire city do you belong to? |
| New Hampshire, found in the New England region, takes its name from the southern English country, Hampshire. With Massachusetts to the south, Atlantic Ocean and Maine to the east, Vermont to the West and the Canadian province of Quebec to the North, this state ranks itself as 46th in total area. The state takes immense pride in being the first post-colonial sovereign nation in the Americas in 1776 and is one of the first thirteen states which helped bring together the USA of today. Also known as the "Granite State", the state motto is an interesting one - Live Free or Die! Some New Hampshire-ites which American is proud of include the founding father Nicholas Gilman, founder of the Christian science religion, Mary Baker Eddy, poet Robert Frost and the current phenomenon author, Dan Brown. Key recreational attractions of this state include plenty of winter sports such as skiing, snowmobiling and others like mountaineering and hiking. An extremely popular event in New Hampshire is the Motorcycle Week which takes place in June. |

Ranked in 2004 as the most livable state, the Granite State based economic, health, educational, public safety and environmental aspects; it is no secret why anyone would want to move to New Hampshire. Good schools, personal safety and healthy environment are factors moms look for in selecting for and New Hampshire ranking was based on these factors as well as being good providers of health care. Being in the lowest category for crime, poverty, unemployment and infant mortality has increased the desirability of living in New Hampshire.
