An Interview with Dr. John W. Daw on Invisalign

Dr. John W. Daw is a dentist and has answered some of the common questions bizymoms visitors have about Invisalign.

Q. What is an invisalign?

A. Invisalign is a clear aligner that is worn to perform orthodontic treatment. Many cases of adult onset crowding or excessive spacing can be corrected quickly without having to have metal braces. Another benefit of these invisible aligners is that they are removable so patients are capable of cleaning and flossing their teeth without the common issues of gum disease that often coincide with traditional braces.

Q. How does invisalign work?

A. Invisalign places a direct force on specific teeth in order to comfortably move them into their correct position.

Q. What are the primary benefits of invisalign?

A. A beautiful smile is the chief benefit of invisalign. Gum disease is often associated with crowded teeth due to the tight angles that crooked teeth present. These tight corners can trap food and bacteria and can lead to loss of bone around teeth.

Q. How long does invisalign treatment take?

A. Depending on the complexity of the case, treatment can range from 3 months to 18 months. Patients are required to wear a clear retainer following treatment to prevent relapse.

Q. How much does invisalign cost?

A. This depends on the complexity of the case but typical treatment for invisalign starts around $3500. Insurance will often cover a portion of this fee while the rest can be easily paid for with zero interest financing.

Q. Who uses invisalign?

A. Adults and Teens can use invisalign to improve their smile. I have treated patients ranging from their early teens to retired adults. The results are dramatic and the improvement is permanent.

Q. Are there certain dental conditions that automatically exclude someone from being an eligible patient?

A. no

Q. How to contact Dr. Daw if we have further questions?

A. Patients can phone anytime during business hours at 707-253-9235. Patients can also request an appointment or post specific questions via www.johndawdds.com
