Mobile Personal Injury Lawyer - An Interview with David J. Maloney

Q. Tell us about yourself and your practice.

A. I practice personal injury law in Mobile, Alabama.  We focus on compensation for injury victims.  Most of our work involves trying to get insurance companies to pay what is fair.

Q. Do you accept any of the pre-paid “ legal plans” that are offered to help with legal fees?

A. I don' t have any arrangement with any pre-paid legal plans programs.  Most of our fees are contingency based, meaning based on a percentage of whatever recovery we obtain for our client(s).

Q. Do you offer a free consultation?

A. Yes,Generally.

Q. Do you have multiple locations within the community

A. At the moment we have, but we are consolidating our offices into one in the next 30 days.

Q. What type of personal injury claims are there?

A. Mostly, anything that involves someone doing something which they did not have to do as a duty (or failing to do something they had a duty to do) that results in property damage or injury.

Q. What should a person do to seek legal advice?

A. Call an attorney.

Q. What will one have to prove to win a case?

A. Depends on the type of case.  For torts one must usually prove liability causation and damages.

A. It can often reduce it.

A. Numerous factors which include, but are not neccessarily limited to type of injuries. Whether the injuries are temporary or permanent type and term of treatment, medical expenses, lost income, scarring and the like.
