Q.    What is Breast Lifting?

A.    A breast lift or mastopexy is a procedure designed to tighten the skin of the breast and elevate the nipple-areolar complex.

Q.    How is breast lift surgery done?

A.    There are several techniques which can be utilized to accomplish this, depending upon the severity of ptosis.

Q.    What is the recovery period like?

A.    Recovery varies, depending upon technique, but most women can return to sedentary work after 7-10 days.

Q.    Who is an ideal candidate for breast lift surgery?

A.    The ideal candidate would be a lady who is of normal body weight who has nipples located below the inframammary fold.

Q.    Are there risks and complications to a breast lift surgery?

A.    The risks are basically those accompanying most surgery (anesthesia, bleeding, infection, scarring, and poor wound healing).  Loss of nipple sensation would be a very rare complication.

Q.    How long do the results last?

A.    The period of time the results last depend on several factors (wearing a good supporting bra, weight gain/loss, etc.).

Q.    How much does breast lift surgery cost?

A.    My charge for this procedure is $3,000.  There are additional charges for anesthesia and the facility fee.  I do not charge for follow-up care.
