| A whiter smile : Maintaining Your Whiter Smile Los Angeles |
So you got the all important teeth whitening done and it looks fabulous. Everyone you meet hands out compliments and tells you that you look more radiant and confident than ever. You can’t stop smiling to show off your new tooth color. A whiter smile can change your life in ways you never imagined.
After the initial high of the new look, some people tend to forget that they once had not so white teeth. It’s easy to think that your teeth will always stay as white as they were immediately after the whitening treatment but that is believing in a fairytale. Even after the whitening, you must take efforts to keep your new look. You may have to work harder for your whiter teeth because as perfect as they look, any blemish will be very apparent.
So how do keep your new white smile? It doesn’t have to be cumbersome and it doesn’t have to be expensive. All you need to do is follow the instructions given to you by the dentist religiously. Here are a few more tips for you:
1. Avoid food that contains dyes. This may be hard for some but it really goes a long way in maintaining the white look of your teeth. That means avoiding tomato sauce and red wine. Opt for clear liquids.
2. Use a straw when you drink, especially tea and coffee. It may look ridiculous but it’s worth it.
3. Lay off smoking, or at least reduce smoking. It discolors teeth so don’t count on being lucky if you smoke.
4. Avoid chewing gum and candy. They can affect the color.
5. Brush your teeth after each meal. Ideally, you should brush your teeth after eating snacks too, not just after the three main meals of the day.
6. Keep to the routine! This is very important because if you neglect the instructions for a day, you may regret it later.
