Plastic Surgeons Long Beach - An interview with Dr. Marcel Daniels

Q. Tell us about yourself and your practice.

A. My name is Dr. Marcel Daniels, FACS, FICS. I am a Southern California native and graduate of the University of Southern California School of Medicine. I was trained in General Surgery at the University of Arizona in Tucson and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Lahey Clinic in Boston, Massachussets. Then I completed an additional year of Fellowships in Cosmetic Surgery. I am board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and I am a Fellow of both the American and International College of Surgeons. I was the former Chief of Plastic Surgery at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. I offer the complete spectrum of Cosmetic Surgery with special emphasis on facial rejuvenation, breast and body contouring.
I am a Long Beach plastic surgeon and I created Image Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery with the belief that providing quality surgical care is only one aspect of a successful practice. I recognize that each patient is an individual with unique goals, desires and concerns. The decision to have cosmetic surgery is not made lightly and can only be made when one is thoroughly informed. That is why I go to great lengths to listen to each patient and help them select the procedure that has the best chance of meeting their expectations. I understand that an operation is only a small portion of the patient\'s experience at Image Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery. To ensure the best possible care, I have selected my support staff with two qualities in mind: they are skilled in their field and they enjoy their work. Every patient that walks through our doors soon realizes that myself and my staff are all committed to creating an enjoyable and satisfying experience as possible.

Q. Please explain the primary procedures performed by your practice.

A. Full spectrum cosmetic surgery, ranging from Breast and Body Contouring as well as Facial Rejuvenation. In addition, I run the Image Laser Spa.

Q. What types of Insurance do you accept?

A. Blue Shield, United Health, Aetna, Pacificare, Medicare

Q. What payment options do you offer?

A. We offer financing thru Care Credit and MyMedicalLoan as well as Visa and Mastercard

Q. Are you certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery?

A. Yes

Q. What is Botox?

A. Botox® is a dilute, purified form of Botulinum toxin which is an extremely effective muscle relaxant.

Q. Who is the ideal candidate for BOTOX?

A. Botox® is for almost anyone who desires a more rested and youthful look. Patients have the added benefit of preventing further etching of the skin caused by repeated squinting, frowning, and creasing of the forehead. Patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding or have a neurological disease should not be treated.

Q. How does BOTOX work?

A. Botox® works very effectively in eliminating the appearance of facial wrinkles that occur with aging or overuse. A few drops of Botox® are injected with a tiny needle into the muscle that creates the wrinkle. Botox® can inactivate the muscles that produce the wrinkles, thereby causing the lines to disappear or dramatically diminish. Botox® is ideal for improving and smoothing the skin between the eyebrows, the lines of the forehead, and the crow\'s feet area around the eyes.

Q. What is the recovery period for BOTOX?

A. No real recovery period

Q. How long do the results of BOTOX last?

A. On average 3-4 months, in some cases us to 6 monthes

Q. How much does BOTOX cost?

A. Depends upon the number of treatment areas

Q. Where is Botox® used?

A. Botox® is used on the face, only around the eyes and forehead so as not to affect a patient\'s smile. It is important to understand that Botox® only relaxes the overactive facial muscles that cause wrinkles. Your skin will feel the same and you will have normal sensation in all treated areas. Muscles that are not treated and related to other expressions are not affected
