An Interview with Dr. James Huang on Dental Implants.

Dr. James Huang is a dentist and has answered some common questions that Bizymoms visitors have about Dental Implants.

Q.  What are dental implants?

A.  Dental implants act as a replacement for lost, natural teeth. The procedure begins by placing a titanium ‘root’ (which is the implant itself) into the bone socket of a missing tooth. Once this is complete, an abutment (connector) is screwed onto the posted ‘root’ to act as the new tooth. In order to make the implant look as natural as possible, a custom crown is made to cover the abutment and match the rest of the patient’s smile. The entire process takes a couple of months to complete to ensure proper healing in between treatments. Our office offers free consultation for anyone interested in knowing more about the procedure.

Q.  What are the benefits of dental implants?

A.  Dental implants can dramatically improve the aesthetic appeal of your smile with great comfort! Unlike dentures or bridges, implants are permanently fixed into the jaw-line and function as natural teeth. They are durable and safe way to retain a beautiful smile despite tooth loss from decay, periodontal disease or accidental injury. Once the implant procedure is complete, patients experience improved speech, better health condition and improved confidence!

Q.  How long does an implant last?

A.  If cared for properly, a dental implant can last a lifetime. Should any implant need to be repaired or replaced, they are covered under a 20-year warranty and will be fixed by Dr. Huang free of charge.

Q.  Who is a good candidate for implants?

A.  Anyone who has lost a tooth or is suffering from loose teeth as a result of injury, decay or gum disease is a candidate for dental implants. Doctor Huang thoroughly assesses each candidate’s situation to determine the best treatment plan for the patient. Every step of the dental implant procedure is completed with ultimate care and precision.
