You Need to Develop Financial Security During Economic Downturn ~ Debra Hardy

First let me introduce myself; since this will be the first article that I am writing for City Guides. My name is Debra Hardy. My primary focus has been to get in my Bachelors in Science Accounting from the University of Phoenix Las Vegas. I have come to appreciate their label “A Phoenix Rising.”

During my economics class my professor advised us: you need to develop some form of residual income from some type Internet based business, or home-based business to ensure financial security.

When I was growing up, I was taught the American dream. Get your college education, work one job for 40 years, and retire. Those days no longer exist and they are gone forever! What was the American dream has now become the American Nightmare.

The average person will now change jobs roughly 10 years while in the work force. Retirement pensions are disappearing. Following my professor’s advice, I started learning about building streams of income, and business development on the Internet.

Over the past four years, I looked into and tried and retired several forms of Internet marketing concepts and products. I spent literally thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours working and testing marketing ideas, products, and concepts to see which ones actually deliver on the promise of financial security, and residual income.

As part of my ongoing education, I purchased “The New Professionals: The Rise of Network Marketing As the Next Major Profession: " by Dr. Charles King. A Harvard Grad tenured Managerial Studies Professor Dr. King teaches a Network Marketing Certification course the University of Illinois in Chicago. Dr. King’s credentials are impressive - he holds a PhD in marketing. His class for the network-marketing distributor covers logical application of methods theories and practices.

The concept of Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) makes it a financial dynamo. Most network-marketing businessmen and businesswomen have not been analyzed academically or statistically. College professors teach more theory than business practices using corporate statistics to substantiate their leanings.
