About Kentucky State Which Kentucky city do you belong to?
Kentucky is a state which is located in the East Central of the country, but is generally considered as part of the Southern states. It is, sometimes, included, culturally and geographically, as part of the Midwest. Kentucky is unique in that it is one of only 4 states to be constituted as a commonwealth. It was initially a part of Virginia in 1792 and is the 15th state to have been recognized by the country. Kentucky is nicknamed the 'Bluegrass State' due to the bluegrass present in a majority of the pastures and the lawns in the state. Kentucky has a large number of resources and extremely diverse environments, which include the longest cave system in the world in the Mammoth Cave National Park. It also has the most productive coalfield in the country. The state is also popular for horse racing, thoroughbred horses, automobile manufacturing, bourbon distilleries, music, bluegrass, college basketball, and tobacco.

Kentucky State Song
My Old Kentucky Home

Words and music by Stephen C. Foster

The sun shines bright in the old Kentucky home, 'Tis summer, the people are gay; The corn-top's ripe and the meadow's in the bloom, While the birds make music all the day.

The young folks roll on the little cabin floor, All merry, all happy and bright; By 'n' by Hard Times comes a-knocking at the door, Then my old Kentucky home, goodnight.

CHORUS Weep no more my lady Oh! weep no more today! We will sing one song for the old Kentucky home, For the Old Kentucky Home far away.

They hunt no more for the possum and the coon, On meadow, the hill and the shore, They sing no more by the glimmer of the moon, On the bench by the old cabin door.

The day goes by like a shadow o'er the heart, With sorrow, where all was delight, The time has come when the people have to part, Then my old Kentucky home, goodnight.

CHORUS The head must bow and the back will have to bend, Wherever the people may go; A few more days, and the trouble all will end, In the field where the sugar-canes grow;

A few more days for to tote the weary load, No matter, 'twill never be light; A few more days till we totter on the road, Then my old Kentucky home, goodnight.
CHORUS

From the beginning, underground explorers doubted that they would ever find the end of Kentucky's Mammoth Cave. Currently weighing in at 350 miles long and 379 feet deep, Mammoth Cave is known as the longest cave in the world. In Mammoth's vast subterranean world, there are giant vertical shafts, from the towering 192-foot-high Mammoth Dome to the 105-foot-deep Bottomless Pit. Some passages and rooms are decorated with sparkling white gypsum crystals, while others are filled with the colorful, sculpted shapes of stalactites, stalagmites, and other cave formations. Underground rivers with names like Echo River and the River Styx flow through Mammoth's deepest chambers.

Living in Kentucky, Express your views about living in Kentucky
Horses are the first thing that might come to your mind when you talk of Kentucky. Kentucky Derby in Louisville is a national event where international celebrities attend. Quality of life in Kentucky will be dependent on the place you choice. The cost of living in some cities is cheaper than the national average. There are very good schools in some cities and similarly not so good schools in other cities. However, in general much progress has been made based on standardized test scores. Though there is crime it is not as high as in some cities. There are many cities which is excellent to bring up children and to have good family life.
