Graphics Software for the computer – Some type of computer software that allows you to edit text and graphics is required. A large choice of software is available in the market. They can be broadly categorized into the following

Graphics editing software – Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro are some of them

Desktop publishing software – Microsoft Publisher, Print Shop, Print Master and Page Plus are the most popular

Word Processing software – Microsoft Word and Corel WordPerfect are the most commonly used

You might already have software that falls into one of the above categories but not necessarily the brands mentioned above. What you have will be more than enough to do the job.

Wrapper template software – This is an alternative to designing the wrapper yourself. Templates contain wrapper designs already created where you only need to add the required text to personalize it. This may be a good way to start if you are not very confident about your designing skills.

Clip art - If you are planning to design your own wrappers, then you need to have a collection of clip art in different themes. Hundreds of clip art galleries are available on the internet either as freeware or for a price. You can keep your costs down by using royalty-free clip art. Always read the licensing agreement before using the images in your designs.

Cutting tools – A normal scissor would be fine but you can also use a rotary cutter, paper trimmer or even a utility knife. If you’re using a cutter or a knife you’ll need a cutting board as well. Whichever cutting tool you use, make sure it will give a straight, clean cut.

A ruler - This is a must have as it serves as a guide when you’re cutting and can also be used for marking fold lines. A good quality ruler made from steel would be ideal.

Adhesives – A low cost option would be a normal glue stick. Though it serves the purpose, using a glue stick can be an untidy business. A better alternative would be double sided tape or tape roller. These will give a more professional finish.

Stapler – If you’re planning to make mint books, you’ll need a stapler to fasten the mints.
