Customer Service Techniques |
|
While the importance of meeting customer satisfaction is quite apparent, why is it so hard to do and how can we get ourselves and our employees understand and work at it without making this a task forced upon?
Some of these basic tips might help in understanding what your customer’s need when being served.
- Address your customer’s by their name
Remember those times when you go to your local restaurant, café, post office or bank and your usual waiter or clerk greet you by your name. How did that feel? I’m sure you felt comfortable and familiar. If you were to think of why you kept going to these places, you’ll realize most of the time it is because they know you and you feel like it is YOUR place to go.
- Be human and try to let your customer’s see that
If you try to create a division between you as the provider and them as the customer, you or your customer will not be able to get what they want. Admitting that you don’t know something or it is something you have not thought of doesn’t make you seem weak, but makes you seem honest, which in turn your customers will respect and come back for.
- Make every experience one to remember
In Internet Businesses this starts from the point of logging into your website till the time they receive the product and even after if support or help is needed with the service or product. This entire process is an experience to your customer and making it a positive one will carry a long way. It is said that we share our bad experiences with 10 other people whereas a good experience is shared with 4, so the impression created matters, no matter what the situation is.
- Get Feedback
Your customer’s are the best source of feedback about your products and services and usually people like to give their opinion – so take it. Good or bad, they both carry important information to improve your business. Sometimes your customers can give you ideas that you’ve never thought of, so be open to feedback.
Finally…
- Thank Your Customer
Remember, customers have many choices and option to choose from and the fact that they chose your service deserve a note of thanks. This simple gesture of appreciation can go a long way.
Although these are only some simple tips you can use to meet your customers satisfaction they are important ones and while you apply these simple techniques of satisfying your customer, learning and practicing can help you improve the quality of your service for success. |
