| Dr. Bronson W. Hamada is an Optometrist and has answered some common questions that Bizymoms visitors have about Sports Vision.
Q. What is Sports Vision?
A. 20/20 vision may not be good enough. Sports Vision Training emphasizes the importance of vision as it relates to sports performance. I am one of the few sports vision specialists worldwide with the new NIKE sports vision technology. I predict that this technology will change the future of human performance training. An athlete’s vision and sensory skills are assessed, then they are compared with a peer database, and finally a customized vision training program is developed for each athlete. We have helped develop vision skills for athletes, from recreational to NCAA Champs, to World Champs, to Olympic Gold Medalists, to Professional. We offer private and group Sports Vision Training sessions.
Q. Who needs a visual motor-evaluation?
A. Any athlete looking to enhance sports performance. An evaluation such as this also provides great information into learning disabilities and academic performance.
Q. Why is a visual motor-evaluation needed?
A. Extra time is spent specifically testing the areas of vision, that directly relate to performance on the playing field, or in the classroom.
Q. Will sports vision training improve performance?
A. Professional sports teams, elite athletes, and college programs are beginning to understand the correlation between vision and athletic performance. Studies have shown that the greatest and quickest way to improve an athlete is to get and eye examination with a sports vision specialist. Sports vision training yields the highest return on investment of any athletic training, bar none. Parents spend thousands of dollars each year on training gear, shoes, and private coaches, but very few invest in training an athlete’s eyes for better performance.
