Relocating to Houston???
My husband's company maybe relocating him Houston. It looks like more than just office gossip this time, so we're trying to learn about the city and where we might like to live.
I have never been to Houston. My husband has been there on a few business trips but hasn't really been able to experience anything, but the traffic.
We have 3 children (12, 8 and 3 yrs), so schools are also important to us. We are fine with public school. My husband and I want our kids to attend a "high performing" school that has low disciplinary as well as high parent involvement and supports the arts.
Not only do we have 3 children, but we also have a dog. So neighborhoods that have good-sized yards would also be nice.
I would love to hear the about Houston and the surrounding areas and their schools (honesty and the pros and cons would be appreciated). Any tips, hints and advice for someone that is relocating are also greatly appreciated.
I'm excited to hear what you all have to say! And I'm looking forward to being in the south again! (I'm from Memphis, TN and now live in Colorado Springs, CO)
Thanks yall!
Brandie
P.S. Does Houston lighting bugs? I would love my kids to be able to play in the yard and catch them the way I did when I was a little girl.
