Glenview Events Festivals And Attractions
The Grove is one of the main attractions of Glenview. It is a National Historic landmark which has nature trails, an interpretive center and some historic buildings which have been re-created and moved. It is located on 123 acres of land and was formerly home to John Kennicott, who had settled into Glenview from New Orleands in 1836. The Grove had been designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1976 and is, now, also a part of the National Register of Historic Places. Robert Kennicott, son of John Kennicott, is a co-founder of the Chicago Academy of Sciences. |
