Well, there are a lot of great games yet to be released, which will have all games fans mouths watering, but here's a look at the cream of the crop:
1. Call of Duty - World at War
The 5th installment in this extremely popular FPS (First Person Shooting) game is on its way. The game, like its predecessors, is set in World War II. You can participate in 2 different campaigns, one of which involves the US Marine Corps taking on the Japanese Army in the Pacific, and another one in which you play the Soviet Red Army as it makes its way through the Eastern European Front during the end of the war. The main difference from the other installments will be the availability of swimming facilities. For the first time since the 2nd installment, flamethrowers will also be available.
2. Doom 4
Earlier this year, id Software announced that they were going to release a new installment in their popular 'Doom' series. Not a lot of details were revealed, but I felt that this awesome game merited an inclusion in this article. Avid gamers will remember the first ever release in the 'Doom' series. Though it may not look very good to today's gamers, it was THE best FPS shooting game which was ever released till then. It was a hit for a lot of years, mainly due to how gory and scary it was. Their last installment, Doom 3, is no exception, and the game-play can get really scary that you may want to leave the lights on when you play..
3. Need for Speed: Undercover
The 12th installment in the NFS series promises to be a throwback to the days of hair-raising police chases! After a real flop in the previous 2 installments (Carbon had a simply useless police chase, and Pro Street didn't have any at all!), Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello has promised the live-action sequences that were a feature of Most Wanted (the 9th installment), and also a deeper storyline, taking inspiration from movies like Transporter. A new 'Highway Battle' mode makes this game one that you'd want to watch out for.
4. Spider-Man : Web of Shadows
For all of you out there who just can't get enough of Spidey, here's one for you. Spidey returns after a gap of 3 years to fight off Venom, who has returned to the Big Apple to infect it with symbiotes. Due to this, the city has been quarantined, and Spidey has to work with friends and foes to stop the symbiotes from spreading. The game-play features are quite the same as with previous installments, but the storyline seems quite compelling. So, watch out for Spidey!
