An FPS game developed by 2K Marin for the PS3, this game is set to be released on the 21st of October this year. After being already released for the Xbox 360 and the PC last year, the PS3 release date is drawing near.
The game is set in 1960, where you play a survivor in a plane crash by the name of Jack, who should explore the underwater city of Rapture, and survive the wrath of mutated beings and mechanical drones. This game incorporates the features that commonly accompany RPGs and survival horror games, and has been received extremely positive reviews from critics, who have appreciated the 'morality - based' storyline, the game environment, and the Ayn Rand - inspired story.

3. FIFA 09
Yes, I know, soccer doesn't really appeal to most of you, and it's very much the same with me. However, I've been playing the 'FIFA' series of games since 2000, and I'm still wondering how I came to like this game, though I don't like the sport that much!
Set to be released on the 14th of next month, FIFA 09, according to the Line Producer, David Rutter, has nearly 250 improvements from the last installment. Some of the major ones include a totally revamped collision system, whereby the speed, power and weight of the players will be taken into consideration when the players collide. These body characteristics will be as in real life.
The substitution have also been made realistic, with players who scored a goal, waving to the crowd as they leave, and those who haven't scored any, and aren't too happy with the substitution reacting badly!
4. The Lord of the Rings: Conquest
Based on the famous 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy, its being published by the famous games developer Electronic Arts, and is set for release on the 24th of November. The players gets to play in a 'Good' and 'Evil' campaign. Unlike the previous installment, the 'Evil' campaign can be unlocked only if the 'Good' campaign is finished, and shows what would've happened if Frodo hadn't destroyed the ring.
