Well, there really aren't any big differences between the games made for computers and the games made for the X-box and play-station. Most games have pretty much the same game-play, levels and characters across all the platforms, but the real difference comes about in the graphics, the speed of the images being rendered, and other such technical details. Let's have a closer look at these differences:
1. Computer vs. X Box
First things first, the X-box really loses out with just 512 MB memory. Of course, the games won't be very slow since the games will be designed to be played with a 512 MB card, but, still, since the X-box just supports a mere 512 MB RAM, the games won't be of the quality of computer games. Moreover, the Quad Core processor beats the Tri Core processor of the X-Box, which, again, means faster games for the PC. However, quite surprisingly, the graphics card of the X-Box, the XENOS, developed by Microsoft itself, does beat the best computer graphics card out there, which is the NVIDIA 7800 GTX.
Though the PC lacks in graphics, it makes up with a much better memory, which is the real 'lacking point' as far as the X-Box is concerned. Therefore, the PC gaming experience gets the thumbs-up in my books!
2. Computer vs. Play Station
Again, like the X-Box, the Play-station's memory pales in comparison to the PC, with a paltry 256 MB. The graphics card also fails to amaze me, with a mere 256 MB RAM, as opposed to a possible 1 GB memory on a computer graphics card (Sapphire ATI Radeon HD3850). The processor also fails, with just 3.2 GHz on its 'Cell Microprocessor'. You can get near 9.6 GHz (2.4 GHz x 4) with a Quad-Core Processor, which can make your gaming experience a really unforgettable one.
Well, I don't want to go too much into detail, or else your head and my head may beg to explode with too much technicality, but, in a nutshell, however popular the X-Box and Play-station line of consoles become, and even with all the games that are made specifically for these consoles, nothing can ever beat the experience of playing on a computer. So if you're in 2 (actually, 3) minds as to what to buy, I'd say you should go for the PC! Try it today, and feel the difference in your gaming experience - Take your gaming hobby into a total new dimension!
