Connect Four
Reminds you of Tic Tac Toe, but here you insert colored checkers into a vertical board. Get 4 of your checkers horizontally, vertically or diagonally while you stop your opponent from the same. Suitable for ages 7 years +. 2 Players.
Snakes and Ladders
Also known as Chutes and Ladders, the objective of the game is to reach the final square in the grid by a roll of dice before the other players. Landing on a ladder square takes you to a higher position while a square with a snake or a chute will cause you to go down in the grid. Suitable for ages 3 years +. 2 or more players.
Candy Land
Players move their markers through a track of 134 colored squares to reach the end. Cards are drawn from a pile and the color on the card determines the players' move. Landing on certain squares will either take players forward or backward or cause them to lose a turn. Suitable for ages 3 to 6 years. Teaches color recognition. 2 to 4 players.
Sorry!
Two or four players are allowed and each player has four pawns. The objective is to be the first to get all four pawns from the 'start' square to the 'home' square. Movements are decided by drawing cards. Ludo is a variation of Sorry!, where a dice is used instead of cards. Suitable for ages 4 years +.
Chinese Checkers
The board has six triangles at each side of a regular hexagon on which holes are indented. Each player must move ten marbles arranged in their triangle, over to the triangle across the board by jumping over other marbles placed in the holes. The first player to move all his marbles across wins. Suitable for ages 5 years +. 2 to 6 players.
Scrabble
Players score points by placing lettered tiles on a 15-by-15 grid to form words. Words can be formed down or across in crossword style. The best way for children to build up their vocabulary. Suitable for ages 8 years +. 2 to 4 players.
Pictionary Jr
Players divide into two teams and draw cards containing words for drawing. Teammates must try and guess the word their 'picturist' sketches before a time limit of 60 seconds. If the guess is right, the team moves forward on the board. The first team to reach the finish line wins. Suitable for ages 7-12 years. 3 to 8 players.
