An Interview with Dr. Richard S. Tutin on Invisalign

Dr. Richard S Tutin is a dentist and has answered some of the common questions Bizymoms visitors have about Invisalign.

Q. What is an invisalign?

A. Invisalign is a specific system for moving your teeth into alignment without conventional braces.  It utilizes clear aligners to gradually shift the teeth. The aligners are made specifically for each patient using 3D technology.

Q. How does invisalign work?

A. Aligners are worn for 2 week intervals. After 2 weeks another aligner is worn until the teeth are gradually moved into ideal alignment.

Q. What are the primary benefits of invisalign?

A. Not having to deal with the brackets of conventional braces is the best benefit. Invisalign uses clear aligners  to move your teeth. They are worn 20-22 hours a day but can be removed and are aethetic. They are not worn when eating and allow you to have better home care.

Q. How long does invisalign treatment take?

A. Invisalign treatment times varies depending on severity and the number of aligners needed.

Q. How much does invisalign cost?

A. Invisalign cost is comparable to conventional braces, however cost varies again by the number of aligners necessary.

Q. Who uses invisalign?

A. Invisalign can be used by teenagers as well as adults.

Q. Are there certain dental conditions that automatically exclude someone from being an eligible patient?

A. Most people are candidates for invisalign. However, severe periodontal problems and a generally unhealthy oral environment are contraindications.  Initial examinations usually involve models and photographs which help in determining if a patient is a candidate.

Q. How to contact Dr. Tutin if we have further questions?
